Oh btw, does anyone have The Doors song "Black Polished Chrome" with them? I need it urgently. Would it be too forward if I asked you to send it to me? Like, pretty please?

I just mentioned that I'm back, and I'm already not finding time to LJ again. Sorry for all the late comments. I have a 10 hour work day and I spend another 4 hours commuting everyday. Doesn't leave much time for anything else.
I haven't been writing or drawing anything much in all this time, except for the occasional assignment that I submitted.
I dunno how many of you know about Sinfest, but I made a flash animation for it with a friend. Have embedded behind the cut. Click on the link and leave you volume at full level. *smoochies*

The reason I was gone is simple: I had to shift towns to attend Post Grad School. The schedule and the non-availability of continuous and accessible internet made it impossible for me to remain in the fandom anymore. Honestly, I only had enough time to check my mail and do the occasional research for assignments.
In the last two years I must have watched thousands of films from all over the world. I mean seriously. My own film collection has burgeoned exponentially and I must have like created a record or something. My minimum was one film a day, while the max was 7 films. I'm talking feature films here. In college we would lie down on the carpeted flooring and watch films on the big screen LCD projection (sneaking contraband into the screening rooms in the form of all sorts of food and drink). Life was good.
I made around 10 shortfilms / documentaries / music videos / corporate films and what not. I'm sort of proud of at least one or two. I even went to Corbett National Park to shoot a documentary. It's a forest reserve for tigers and the biggest in the country. And all I could think of was about the fic "Man Eaters of Kumaon" by
ignipes. *waves to her if she's around*
Being in the film industry, I met a LOT of Indian celebrities. If
tinnidawg,
22by7 and
smoo_001 are interested, I can list them.
This January I was responsible for holding the 1st International DigitAll Movement Film Festival. I know it has a fancy schmancy name but I'm quite proud of it as I had conceptualized and carried it out as Team Leader.
And I HAVE A JOB!! I'm a production executive at a Film Production House. I will actually be making feature films. Like finally.
Actually, there have not been many adventures really (I almost drowned once, but that's another story). Most of it was work and more work.
No romance though. A pity.

| You rarely get angry and it takes a lot to make you angry, however you feel strong cravings and urges that you have difficulty resisting. You tend to prefer short-term pleasures and rewards over long-term consequences. People generally perceive you as distant and reserved, and you do not usually reach out to others. You tend not to express your emotions openly and are sometimes not even aware of your own feelings. You dislike confrontations and are perfectly willing to compromise or to deny your own needs in order to get along with others, however you do not particularly like helping other people. Requests for help feel like an imposition on your time. You take your time when making decisions and will deliberate on all the possible consequences and alternatives. |

Its been TWO WHOLE YEARS!!
I can't believe it for the life of me. LJ was like life blood to me and I can't believe I was away that long.
I 'm back now... I think. And I will try to stay back. I don't even know how many of you are still here... and importantly... how many of you still remember me. Could you please just give a shoutout, so I know...? Pretty please? Oh and a couple of updates in the fandom... your lives in general and just anything at all?
A lot has happened in the last two years... but I'll leave that for another post.
So basically this is a bit loud HI to all. I've missed you guys.

Hey Gyuz! *hi five*
Thanks for the mails of concern, but I'm perfectly all right. Am not in Mumbai, so there's no cause for worry. My Dad, who normally takes the train, thankfully was driving his car that day.
Oh, and I had a presentation today. They asked us to have the topic of our choice. Guess what I chose? The phenomenon of the 'Fandom'. Mine was the best presentation EVER (if I say so myself; the professor said so too.)
Anyway, I'm having a hard time keeping up with all the assignments, hence the lack of participation on LJ. But I do hope you guys are all right.

Here are some pics from the first outing our college had. Since most of us are from other cities and regions, the college took us to a tour of Pune City. It's another thing that I had done the sight seeing for a million times already. Still, it was a bit of fun.

Nope, not dead. Just buried. In a pile of work that is.
It's funny, the way your whole life turns around. Here I was, for three years, thinking that my life was perfect, with my little college dishing out occassional assignments, leaving me enough time to frolic on the world wide web. And here I am now, finally doing something worthwhile in my life (which - I might add - is what I always wanted to do) and I yearn for the 'good old days'. I AM happy, with the course, the work and everything. But I can't help having this niggling sense of regret. Could it be because I'm nothing but a lazybone wanting life to give be everything on a guilded platter?
Before, I wax more philosophical, I want you to know (there's nothing else I've been saying lately) that I miss you guys and the fandom badly. I'll TRY and post something worthwhile in the future.
But till then: adieu.

My kid sister just got her Tenth Board results. It is something like an O.W.L. here in India. She got 94.8 percent.
I've never even seen what 94.8% looks like. I'd be brilliant in everything else, but when it comes to studying...er. I'm not jealous, no I'm not. But somehow I just can't understand the academic types. I understand excelling in the ONE subject you're obsessive about. But ALL subjects?
All right, don't pelt me. I'm due my own results in June. I expect I did well. We'll see.
I'm leaving for Pune tomorrow. I'll be living as a Paying Guest for a year and get college accommodation for the next. I'm nervous as hell. Pray for me.
Love you all. Don't be angry for I'm on an f-list checking hiatus.

I GOT THE ADMISSION FOR AUDIO VISUAL PRODUCTION. It took me a year, but it happened. Finally. College starts at the end of this month.
My only regrets are the high fees, and the fact that I'll have to change cities. I adore Mumbai, and never liked Pune.
Also... I won't have ready connectivity to the internet. Most likely, I'll have to withdraw from FA modship, and eljaying wouldn't be as frequent as I'd like it to be. I'd be lucky if I got to read fics.
So there.
